31 May Dream People present “Almost Young”, July 6, at Teatro Maria Matos, in Lisbon
Dream People will take the stage at Teatro Maria Matos, in Lisbon, to present their latest album ‘Almost Young’. Tickets are already on sale.
Released last March, Almost Young, Dream People’s new album has conquered the public and the critics in Portugal and abroad. It will now be finally presented live, on July 6, at 21h00, at Teatro Maria Matos, in Lisbon.
“People Think”, the mesmerizing lead single, confirmed that this promising young band has an already refined aesthetic. The single premiered on RTP1 (national television) and MTV and was included in most important alternative national radio playlists.
Despite their still short career, Dream People have been growing a lot. The band was born in 2019 and quickly gained attention from the most important festivals in Portugal, having performed that same year at Festival Vodafone Paredes de Coura and Super Bock em Stock in Lisbon. Their EP Soft Violence, released the following year, was considered one of the best Portuguese records of the year by the prestigious Spanish alternative blog Mindies.
In March, Dream People represented Portugal at the ILMC – International Live Music Conference, one of the biggest music industry meetings in the world, alongside names like Lina_Raül Refree and Surma, and in May they were selected to showcase their music in one of the most important North American music conferences, Canadian Music Week.
“Almost Young”, named after Leonard Cohen’s song “So Long Marianne”, is characterized by its dense and melancholic songs that live somewhere between dreams and reality. The highlight goes to the contradictory “People Think”, an introduction to the motto of the album: the loss of youth.
“One of the most beautiful moments in portuguese music in 2021”
