CAMP

It was in a magical place between the countryside, the sea, and the mountains, that the first edition of CAMP took place on 7, 8 and 9 October, a project promoted by Morgado do Quintão, a wine producer in the Algarve region.

More than a music festival, CAMP was a gathering of culture and heritage. Over three days, musicians, creators and thinkers gathered for this non-festival in which music had a prominent place, combined with a truly challenging cultural programme: the festival included several parallel activities, such as workshops on ceramics, recycled wood and ecology, which took place in the estate’s old olive press, under the motto ‘People of Our Land’, developed in partnership with the Loulé Design Lab.

The program also included Talks, a series of conversations with guests, which focused on one of the main themes of CAMP’22 – “Earth, Meaning and Beauty”. In the living room ideas were also projected, in 30-minute talks followed by questions and answers. Alternatively, in the shade of the millenary olive tree, intimate conversations and debates took place, in a fusion between speakers and listeners.

And finally, the concerts: Carminho (7 October), Bruno Pernadas (8 October) and Mário Laginha (9 October) gave away to 3 memorable performances that were complemented with the sharing of memories and stories with the artists themselves and with a Masterclass by Carminho.

A meeting between music and culture, a field guide for each person to get lost. A place that invited the expansion of thought through art, music, and sharing. This was CAMP ’22.
