The festival prepares for its 13th edition and announces two special performances by Mariza, on 14 February at Coliseu Porto Ageas and on 19 February at Coliseu dos Recreios. Tickets available from 9 October.
Às Vezes o Amor returns in February 2027, unveiling the programme for its 13th edition with one of the concepts that has most defined the festival’s history: “The Love Songs of…”. This time, the invitation goes to Mariza, who will present a very special performance on 14 February at Coliseu Porto Ageas, in Porto, and on 19 February at Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon.
Founded in 2015, the festival will adopt the name Às Vezes o Amor from 2027 onwards, reinforcing the idea at the heart of the project and the vision that has guided it since the beginning: celebrating love through music, bringing together different artists, audiences, venues and cities in a programme spanning the country.
It is this same spirit that inspired “The Love Songs of…”, a concept through which Às Vezes o Amor has challenged some of Portugal’s most prominent artists to revisit their own repertoires through the many ways love can be sung, understood and experienced. Following specially created performances by artists such as Jorge Palma, Rui Veloso, Santos & Pecadores and Sérgio Godinho, Mariza takes on the challenge in 2027.
In “The Love Songs of Mariza”, the artist will revisit a repertoire shaped over more than two decades of her career, exploring the many dimensions of love, passion, absence, longing and affection. Created especially for this edition of Às Vezes o Amor, the concert promises a unique encounter between Mariza’s artistic universe and a concept that has become one of the festival’s defining features over the years.
The invitation also comes at a particularly significant moment in Mariza’s career. The artist is preparing to release Amor, her first album of original material in eight years, at the end of 2026. The album explores the different dimensions and expressions of love. “Beijos”, released on 25 September, is the latest and final single ahead of the album’s release, following “Desamor”, featuring Gson, “Amar-te” and “Casa”.
Mariza’s concerts at Coliseu Porto Ageas and Coliseu dos Recreios are the first events announced for the 2027 programme. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, 9 October.
More artists, cities and venues will be announced over the coming weeks, as the festival continues to build a programme that reflects the artistic quality and geographical diversity audiences have come to associate with Às Vezes o Amor.
