27 Sep Luca Argel releases single “Acanalhado”, the third preview from the album “Visita” set to be released on October 18
After the release of “Lampedusa” and “Anos Doze”, the first two singles from Luca Argel’s new studio album “Visita”, the third preview, “Acanalhado”, is now available. This song, originally featured on the 2017 album “Bandeira”, is revisited in this new project in an intimate and collaborative version, where Luca Argel is accompanied by the piano of Brazilian musician Pri Azevedo.
The new album “Visita” will be released on October 18th, and in this new work, the Portuguese-Brazilian singer-songwriter revisits a series of songs from previous albums in new versions, as well as some collaborations that had never been recorded in his voice before and are being released for the first time in “Visita”.
“What if we could compress a Janete Clair soap opera into a single song? Originally released on “Bandeira” (2017), “Acanalhado” is exactly that. It’s one of my favorite songs to sing, and it has never left the setlist of my concerts since. The story of a secret relationship, one that for some reason no one can ever discover, not even after death, perfectly blends doses of melancholy and romance in both the lyrics and melody. The new arrangement brought by this single fully explores that potential, creating an enigmatic atmosphere of a dimly lit piano bar, where anonymous souls cross the night, searching for some kind of anesthetic for the pains of the heart.”

The new album “Visita” will be presented live in November in Porto, the city that welcomed Luca Argel when he moved to Portugal more than ten years ago, and in Lisbon. On November 3rd, Luca Argel and Pri Azevedo will perform at Salão Ático – Coliseu Porto Ageas, and a few days later, on November 7th, they will take the stage at the Nova Cultura UNL Auditorium (Campolide Campus). This concert is part of the Ciclo Liberdade na NOVA series, which, from September to December, is dedicated to exploring the legacy of the April 25th Revolution in Portuguese music and the dialogues between music and freedom in the work of younger Portuguese, Brazilian, and African artists who have a strong connection to protest songs.
Tickets for both performances are already available.
Alongside the songs from “Visita,” Luca Argel released the first episode of a MiniDoc on September 6th, which is divided into five parts. Filmed during the recording sessions of the album, this MiniDoc reveals to the audience some of the stories behind the songs and the artists Luca Argel and Pri Azevedo.
