05 Dec “Live & Acoustic”: Sara Cruz’s new EP now available
“Somethin’ Stupid (Live & Acoustic)” is the final single to be revealed from Sara Cruz’s new EP, marking the culmination of a project in which the Azorean singer-songwriter returns to the essence of her folk universe: voice, guitar, and pure emotion. Recorded in a single take, the track represents one of the most intimate and heartfelt moments of the “Live & Acoustic” EP, evoking the family memories that shaped Sara’s artistic journey.
In this folk, acoustic, delicate, and deeply personal version of “Somethin’ Stupid,” Sara Cruz revisits one of the most timeless classics of the Anglo-Saxon songbook — a song that has accompanied her since childhood and that connects her indelibly to the memory of her grandfather. Now, the track gains new life in a raw and stripped-back arrangement, where voice and guitar intertwine with authenticity and closeness.
The EP, now available on digital platforms, also includes the Live & Acoustic versions of “Go-Getter,” “Faithful,” and “Good Thing,” songs originally featured on her debut album, “Fourteen Forty-Five.” Completing the project is “Na Ponta da Madrugada,” a Portuguese-language track written for the Azorean project Mar & Ilha, which evokes the viewpoint in São Miguel known as one of the most beautiful places to watch the sunrise — a return to her roots and to the emotional landscape of her island.
