Cristina Branco’s European Tour: 22 Concerts Across 5 Countries in the First 4 Months of 2026

The project “Fado em Movimento”, the songs from the album “Mãe”, the invitation from the Danish Big Band for two concerts under the direction of Mário Laginha, and the return to the Netherlands — the country where her nearly 30-year career began — reveal the many facets of Cristina Branco that European audiences will be able to discover in the first four months of 2026. France, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands are part of the singer’s European tour, which already has 22 concerts scheduled. And 2026 is only just beginning…

“FADO EM MOVIMENTO” TOUR: FRANCE

🎧 LISTEN ALBUM

Cristina Branco, guitarist Bernardo Couto, and the French ensemble Des Équilibres — a string quartet led by violinist Agnès Pyka — joined forces in the project “Fado em Movimento.” Its premise lies in exploring the universe of fado in dialogue with other musical genres, based on original compositions by Florentine Mulsant, Anne Victorino d’Almeida, and Fátima Fonte, with texts by Gonçalo M. Tavares.

This project — the result of artistic residencies at Casa da Música, ESMAE (School of Music and Performing Arts, Porto), and La Ferme du Buisson Cultural Centre (France) — returns to the stage today (January 6th) for the first of five dates in France. After Bourges (6th), it continues to Metz (10th), Pontault-Combault (13th), Sault (15th), and Avignon (16th).

With an unparalleled passion for traditional fado, Cristina Branco pays a heartfelt tribute to this musical genre in “Mãe”, her 18th album of original songs, in which she lends her singular and expressive voice to a variety of composers. Since 2023, both on record and live, “Mãe” has offered national and international audiences an original repertoire that takes listeners on an immersive journey of rediscovering fado, exploring its emotional depths and subtle nuances.

From January 24 to 31, accompanied on stage by Bernardo Couto (Portuguese guitar), Bernardo Moreira (double bass), and Luís Figueiredo (piano), the artist returns to Germany with these songs, following warmly received performances in previous years, performing in Dreieich (24th), Karlsruhe (25th), Freiburg (27th), Bremen (28th), Wilhelmshaven (29th), and Potsdam (31st). On February 6, Brussels, Belgium will host this show.

On March 25, Cristina Branco begins an eight-concert tour in the Netherlands, starting in IJmuiden. She returns once again to the country where her nearly 30-year career began, also performing in Tilburg (26th), Middelburg (28th), and Den Haag (31st). In April, Breda (2nd), Eindhoven (3rd), Groningen (4th), and Utrecht (5th) will have the opportunity to experience the essence of “Mãe.”

W/ DR BIG BAND E MÁRIO LAGINHA: DENAMARK

On March 19, fado meets jazz in Horsens, for the first of two concerts in Denmark. Cristina Branco takes the stage at Horsens Ny Teater, accompanied by the vibrant DR Big Band and pianist-composer Mário Laginha. The intense emotions of fado and the lively energy of jazz merge into a concert experience full of passion, intimacy, and high artistic quality.

The evening’s musical program was conceived by Mário Laginha, blending the melancholy and depth of fado with the dynamic sound of a big band. The musician himself will be at the piano, leading the orchestra through a unique and moving repertoire. On March 22, the DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen will host this performance.
