20 Sep Cara de Espelho presents the music video for “Testa de Ferro”
“Testa de Ferro” is the latest music video from the band Cara de Espelho and marks the conclusion of a series of four videos directed by Joana Brandão, which also includes “Corridinho Português,” “Político Antropófago,” and “Tratado de Paz.”
The director describes her creative process and experience collaborating with Cara de Espelho, bringing to the audiovisual field the aesthetic that the band was developing at the time for their debut album:
“For the first two [videos], Político Antropófago and Corridinho Português, the challenge was to create more graphic works that aligned with the band’s existing album aesthetic. I created two different videos but with a common premise, both with the collaboration of Inês Carrola and Ricardo Madeira for editing and graphics, and in Corridinho Português, with photo manipulation by Rui Palha.
In Tratado de Paz, the main premise was simplicity, and I aimed to reflect that, ensuring the words were not overlooked. In the case of Testa de Ferro, the challenge they presented me was to create a simple video that conveyed the energy of the band playing. The video, with cinematography by Paulo Segadães (also in Tratado de Paz) and editing by Bruno Moreira | Mola, captures that energy, but nothing compares to seeing Cara de Espelho live to truly feel the power of this ‘super’-band!”
In recent months, Cara de Espelho’s summer tour has taken them to some of the most iconic national festivals. The band performed their debut album, Cara de Espelho, as well as new tracks at FNAC Live, Festival MED, FMM (Sines), and Bons Sons, and has now wrapped up the tour with three concerts in September at the Feira da Dieta Mediterrânea, Festa do Avante, and at Amadora em Festa, a city where they had an artistic residency earlier in the year as they prepared for their debut performances.
They made their debut in October 2023 with “Corridinho Português” and “Político Antropófago,” the two singles that first introduced the unique sound of Cara de Espelho. Their highly anticipated debut album was released on January 26th and received significant attention from the national and international specialized press.
After the summer tour and nine months after their debut at Theatro Circo in Braga, Cara de Espelho is returning to the big stage on November 29th for a headlining concert at São Luiz Teatro Municipal in Lisbon.
