07 Feb Tindersticks return to Portugal for an exclusive concert at Ageas Cooljazz 2025
On July 26th, Tindersticks will take the stage at Ageas Cooljazz in Cascais for a concert that promises yo mark this edition of the festival. The English band will present their latest album, Soft Tissue, following the success of the tour in Portugal in November last year.
Led by the unique voice of Stuart Staples, Tindersticks bring a repertoire that blends the boundaries of alternative rock, jazz, and cinematic music. Their new album, Soft Tissue, features tracks such as New World, Don’t Walk, Run, Falling, the Light, and Soon to be April, already earning praise from The Guardian, which awarded it 4 out of 5 stars. The publication described the album as a journey “from 70s soul to shimmering strings, continuing to illuminate the fringes of pop music and celebrating beauty in the small things.”
Formed in the 1990s, Tindersticks have built a unique musical identity, characterized by complex compositions and lyrical depth comparable to greats such as Leonard Cohen and Scott Walker. Their sound, blending melancholy and intimacy, has been internationally recognized as one of the most original in the contemporary music scene.
The concert at Ageas Cooljazz promises to be a special moment, combining the new tracks from Soft Tissue with some of the band’s greatest hits in a setlist that celebrates their extensive and acclaimed discography. For Portuguese fans it will be another chapter in the long-standing love story between Tindersticks and Portugal.
