19 Jan Sara Cruz is now part of the roster of artists represented by Locomotiva Azul
After releasing her latest musical creation, the surprising single “Grass Is Greener,” talented singer-songwriter Sara Cruz is now represented by Locomotiva Azul. Her music is an engaging fusion of pop and folk, offering a deeply reflective sonic experience.
Over the course of a decade, Sara Cruz has delighted audiences with intimate acoustic performances, often solo, taking her guitar to various regions of Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Spain, and sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Reuben James, Maria Gadú, and Nuno Bettencourt.
In 2021, she was invited to participate in the Portuguese traditional music album “Coreto,” by Rogério Charraz, featuring lyrics by José Fialho Gouveia, of which the Diário de Notícias wrote: “A love story with other stories inside…”
The following year, the singer-songwriter joined the Portuguese collective “Avalanche” with the track “Neblina,” which released its debut original album titled “Volume I.”
At the core of “Grass Is Greener,” a melodic poem about time and the bittersweet duality of the growth process is presented. The song reflects on the past while also questioning aspects of life that have shaped the singer. It’s an anthem to acceptance, a truce with difficult yet equally valuable moments.
Produced in collaboration with producer Cristóvam, this new track features the contributions of talented musicians such as Francisco Santos on drums, Sean Hurley (John Mayer/Lana Del Rey) on bass, and Cristóvam on electric guitar.
Following “Day or Two,” “Grass Is Greener” is the second single from Sara Cruz’s highly anticipated debut album. Recognized as New Talent FNAC in 2019 and winner of the “NiT New Talent” competition, her involvement in the documentary “House of Talents,” promoted by Yamaha Music Europe in 2021, solidified her position as a rising artist. The documentary series follows the journey of six emerging artists from across Europe, brought together for an exclusive songwriting experience in Barcelona, living in a villa filled with instruments and a home studio, with the mission to collaborate, create music, and perform live.
“Day or Two” and “Grass Is Greener” mark an important chapter in Sara Cruz’s career, eagerly anticipating the album that promises to enchant listeners in 2024.
