28 Aug Locomotiva Azul presents a cycle of intimate concerts at àCapela, in Lisbon
Locomotiva Azul launches a monthly solo concert series that invites audiences to a close-up musical experience in an intimate and exclusive setting in the heart of Lisbon. Between September and November, the venue will be the new cultural space àCapela Live Arts & Bar, an initiative resulting from a partnership with MACAM – Armando Martins Museum of Contemporary Art.
The series kicks off on September 12th with Luca Argel, followed by performances by Sara Cruz (October 11th), Pedro Jóia (November 1st), and Monday (November 29th), each beginning at 9:30 pm. The concerts will be held in an intimate and acoustic format, creating a unique connection between artist and audience and revealing new dimensions of his music. These sessions aim to establish themselves as a space for encounter and sharing, where music is presented in its purest and most authentic form.

Luca Argel delivers an intimate concert featuring voice and guitar, inviting the audience to immerse themselves in the poetic and musical universe he has been building over the past few years. With a repertoire spanning his discography, from the landmark “Bandeira” (2017), through “Conversa de Fila,” “Samba de Guerrilha,” and “Sabina,” to the recent “Visita” (2024), the show presents a musical narrative that combines lyricism, social critique, and melodic delicacy.
On September 12th, Luca Argel presents a concert in which words take center stage, sometimes whispered, sometimes expressed through the melodies he composes. Accompanied only by his guitar, the artist creates an atmosphere of closeness and listening, where samba dialogues with urban music, poetry with politics, and the intimate with the collective.

Azorean singer-songwriter Sara Cruz has won over audiences and critics with her international and captivating sound. Born in the middle of the Atlantic, between Europe and North America, her work incorporates folk influences, blended with the pop/singer-songwriter universe.
“Go-Getter,” “Faithfull,” “Grass Is Greener,” “The Show,” and “Plot Holes” are some of the tracks on her debut album, “Fourteen Forty-Five,” a title that evokes the distance in kilometers between the island where she was born and Lisbon, the city where she lives and, on this occasion, presents her work.
These songs translate into a deeply immersive and reflective sonic experience, which will gain renewed intensity in this solo concert, scheduled for October 11th. The show previews the essence of her new acoustic EP, to be released by the end of the year.

Considered one of the most virtuoso Portuguese guitarists today, Pedro Jóia will perform solo on November 1st.
With a career marked by the fusion of fado tradition, the heritage of Iberian music, and the freedom of flamenco, Pedro Jóia takes us on an intense and intimate journey through his guitar, revealing the strength and delicacy of an instrument that breathes with him.
A rare concert, partly inspired by “Mosaico,” his most recent album, but also evoking great guitar classics and his work with Armandinho, Carlos Paredes, and José Afonso. The performance will be a unique moment that highlights the singular talent of a musician capable of crossing cultural and emotional boundaries.

Recognized for her emotive and captivating voice, dreamy aesthetic, and folk influences with a pop sensibility, Cat Falcão adopted the stage name Monday in 2018, releasing her first solo album, “One.”
In 2024, she released “Underwater, Feels Like Eternity,” a dreamlike album with delicate arrangements, produced by the artist herself, which explores the nostalgia associated with the end of youth and past relationships. It’s inspired by acoustic versions of songs like “Wasteland” and “When I Love Another Man”—in keeping with the sound of the “Live Underwater” project—which the artist performs on November 29th, bringing this Locomotiva Azul season to a grand close.
