15 May Luca Argel and Filipe Sambado in a unique show at CCB
On May 31, Luca Argel will perform at the Grand Auditorium of the Centro Cultural de Belém in a unique show alongside Filipe Sambado. Titled “Sun in Gemini,” the concert celebrates the multiplicity, restlessness, and poetry that characterize both artists.
Diversity, restlessness, and a gift with words. These are the qualities that define the Gemini sign and seem to perfectly reflect Luca Argel and Filipe Sambado. This talented duo first crossed paths in 2024 at the FeliCidade Festival, sharing the stage in an encounter where music and conversation intertwined, addressing what moves and unsettles them most in this world.
In a true pact of complicity, Luca and Filipe have made each other’s songs their own, sharing them with the audience in a unique way. It was a moment of discovery, not only through the fusion of their songs but also due to the curious coincidence of having their birthdays just a few days apart. And now, on the anniversary of that encounter, they are together once again in a new show, expanding that concert into a musical cosmos of another dimension. An exercise in connection that transcends genres and celebrates artistic diversity.
On stage, they bring a part of each band. Vera Vera-Cruz on bass and Joana Komorebi on drums, regular companions of Sambado in his concerts, are joined by Pri Azevedo, the pianist who has accompanied Argel on the road for years. From this combination comes the band of “Sun in Gemini,” which has taken on the challenge of creating a new sonic personality, capable of blending the music of the two Geminis into a common denominator.
