15 Feb Cara de Espelho with extra date in Lisbon
Just one week before their debut at Theatro Circo in Braga on February 24th, Cara de Espelho announces an extra date in Lisbon on March 4th at Teatro Maria Matos. Tickets are already available for purchase at the usual locations.
They debuted in October 2023 with “Corridinho Português” and “Político Antropófago,” the two singles that first showcased the unique sound of Cara de Espelho, the new project in Portuguese popular music.
On January 26th, the highly anticipated album “Cara de Espelho” was released, anticipating a tour that begins on February 24th at Theatro Circo in Braga and continues in March through Loulé (Cineteatro Louletano), Lisbon (Teatro Maria Matos), and Porto (Casa da Música).
Today, the debut tour of the supergroup Cara de Espelho gains a new date in Lisbon. In addition to the concert on March 5th, already announced, it will also be possible to see Pedro da Silva Martins, Carlos Guerreiro, Nuno Prata, Luís J Martins, Sérgio Nascimento, and Maria Antónia Mendes live at Teatro Maria Matos on March 4th.
In these concerts, besides the twelve tracks that compose the album “Cara de Espelho” and explore different sounds, both acoustic and electric, somber or celebratory, the band will also present unpublished and unreleased songs whose debut will happen live in the four venues hosting Cara de Espelho for the first time.
Tickets for all shows are available at caradeespelho.pt
“From the ashes of Deolinda or A Naifa, Cara de Espelho is not just a supergroup. It is a ‘blood transfusion’ in Portuguese music.” Expresso
“Cara de Espelho: Songs that go to battle. The band is new but we know its members well. Cara de Espelho promises to stir the waters with combat music, as poetic as it is interventionist.” Visão
“Cara de Espelho: intervention music that came ‘to bother’. Bringing together people from Deolinda, Gaiteiros, A Naifa, Ornatos Violeta, and They’re Heading West, they are born out of the urgency to put political songs at the service of the fight for democracy. With identifiable targets.”Público
“So how do you meet expectations? By fulfilling them precisely. It seems redundant, but it’s just putting into practice a modern and already old reality. Seeing our particular face in the common mirror. A mission well executed from the start, I say. And I agree with myself on that, as surely many people will.” Sérgio Godinho
