Juliana Linhares returns to Portugal this October to present “Até Cansar o Cansaço”, the second album of her solo career, released in May. The Brazilian singer, songwriter and actress will perform in Ponta do Sol (Madeira), Évora, Lisbon and Póvoa de Varzim, as part of a tour running from 21 to 31 October. The concerts will be presented in a duo format, with Elísio Freitas on guitars. Tickets are now on sale.

Juliana Linhares has established herself as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Brazilian music, with a career in which music, theatre, movement and Northeastern Brazilian culture intersect to create a language entirely her own. This new chapter has already received significant recognition. CartaCapital named “Até Cansar o Cansaço” one of the year’s major releases and, following the album’s presentation at Sesc Pompeia in São Paulo, described Juliana as an “artist of rare presence, a strong repertoire and remarkable command of the stage.”
Following “Nordeste Ficção” (2021), her debut album, which challenged historical stereotypes and proposed new narratives around Northeastern identity, Juliana now explores a particularly relevant concern: exhaustion and the need to reclaim our ability to stop, sleep and dream.
The research behind “Até Cansar o Cansaço” was shaped by Juliana’s contact with the work of Brazilian neuroscientist Sidarta Ribeiro during an artistic residency with Companhia Brasileira de Teatro. Her reflections on exhaustion and dreaming became the creative foundation for an album that transforms fatigue into movement, imagination and the possibility of a different future. The body, dance and stagecraft — essential dimensions of Juliana’s multidisciplinary practice — therefore occupy a central place in this new work.
Featuring 11 tracks, the album brings together original compositions alongside new interpretations of songs by Elino Julião, a major figure in the forró tradition of Rio Grande do Norte; Belchior, one of the defining Brazilian songwriters of the 1970s; and Manduka, composer and visual artist, and son of poet Thiago de Mello. The album also features guest appearances by Ney Matogrosso, Agnes Nunes and Anastácia, the “Queen of Forró” and longtime collaborator of Dominguinhos.
The album is produced by Elísio Freitas, who has worked with Juliana since “Nordeste Ficção” and will join her on guitar throughout the Portuguese tour. The artistic direction is by Marcus Preto, a producer and artistic director whose work has been associated with artists including Gal Costa, Erasmo Carlos and Tom Zé. The overall artistic concept was developed by Juliana Linhares herself.
Following her appearance at MIMO Amarante in 2025, Juliana Linhares now returns to Portugal alongside Elísio Freitas to present a new chapter in a career where song and performance are inseparable expressions of the same artistic language.
