27 Feb Tour: Cristina Branco back on the road with “Mulheres de Abril”
The return to the stage takes place on March 6, at Teatro Cinema in Fafe, in a performance that gives voice to a repertoire of resistance, freedom, and transformation. Following the enthusiasm of the first concerts — highlighted by a sold-out show at Casa da Música (Porto) — the tour “Mulheres de Abril — Cristina Branco sings José Afonso” now announces five new dates, further strengthening its national journey while celebrating the strength, memory, and female legacy present in the music of the iconic songwriter.
Special attention goes to the April dates — a symbolic month that reinforces the spirit of the Revolution and the decisive role of women in building democracy: April 10 at Espaço Multiusos de Almeirim; April 24 at Cine-Teatro São Pedro (Alcanena); and April 25 at Cine-Teatro Avenida (Castelo Branco). On May 17, in another special occasion, Cristina Branco performs at the Salão de Festas d’A Voz do Operário (Lisbon), in a concert featuring the institution’s Children’s Choir.
In these performances, the singer is joined by outstanding musicians — also her collaborators on the new album “Mulheres de Abril”: Alexandre Frazão (drums), Bernardo Moreira (double bass), Mário Delgado (guitars), Ricardo Dias (piano), and Tomás Marques (saxophone).
