Sara Cruz has enchanted audiences with intimate acoustic performances, often solo, taking her guitar to various regions of Portugal, the UK, the US and Spain, and sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Reuben James, Maria Gadú and Nuno Bettencourt. Her music is an engaging fusion of pop and folk, a deeply reflective listening experience. Originally from the stunning island of São Miguel, her music is also a reflection of the incredible beauty of her homeland and what it is like to live on an island in the middle of the Atlantic.
“Day or Two”, “Grass Is Greener”, “The Show” and “Plot Holes” are the singles taken from her highly anticipated debut album, “Fourteen Forty-Five”. Sara Cruz was recognized as a FNAC New Talent in 2019 and winner of the “NiT New Talent” competition. Her involvement in the documentary “House of Talents”, promoted by Yamaha Music Europe in 2021, solidified her position as an artist on the rise. The documentary series follows the journey of six emerging artists from across Europe, who come together for an exclusive songwriting experience in Barcelona, living in a villa filled with instruments and a home studio, with the mission of collaborating, creating music and performing live.
After being part of the group of ten names selected from the 28th OuTonalidades Groups’ Stock Exchange for the showcase program, which took place in March at the Auditorium and Café-Concerto of CAA – Águeda Arts Center, and performing at the Festival d’O Engenho, at the Angra do Heroísmo Museum, in the Azores, Sara Cruz participated in the 40th Maré de Agosto Festival, at Praia Formosa, in Santa Maria, Azores. Her talent led her to perform at festivals such as IKFEM and MEO Monte Verde, solidifying her presence on the music scene.
The album’s release marked the beginning of the tour, with live performances at Ovar Expande and Montepio Às Vezes o Amor, as well as 12 FNAC Sessions across several cities in Portugal. Chaves, Palmela, Odemira, Lagoa, and Mora were among the cities that welcomed the presentation of this debut record.
Following the release of her EP “Live & Acoustic” this December, she will embark on a 2026 tour, performing both with her full band and in more intimate solo shows.
