Pedro Jóia kicks off a worldwide tour on April 13th in Macau, followed by performances in Zhuhai (China), New Delhi and Kolkata (India), and then returning to Europe for a series of concerts until summer, including stops in Prague, Barcelona, and Portimão.
As part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the April 25th Revolution, which take place in the locations visited by this tour, Pedro Jóia, accompanied by the talented percussionist José Salgueiro, presents a special repertoire, blending various works from his extensive career, notably the acclaimed album “Zeca” dedicated to José Afonso and his latest album “Mosaico.”
The virtuoso guitarist, a bestseller in Portugal with the album “Zeca” and winner of two Carlos Paredes awards throughout his career, returned to original compositions with “Mosaico,” a remarkable musical work that unfolds across different latitudes and musical bonds, from fado to flamenco to oriental music.
Collaborations with major national and international music artists such as Ney Matogrosso, Gilberto Gil, Simone, Mariza, Ricardo Ribeiro, and Resistência, among many other renowned figures, demonstrate not only Pedro Jóia’s virtuosity but also a profound human and artistic connection, enriched by the friendships he has made throughout his brilliant career.
